Application Programmer Analyst

Job Description:

ARCHIBUS Solution Centers-Research Triangle (ASC-RT) has an immediate need for an Application Programmer Analyst. In this position you will be part of the comprehensive services team which provides technical and user support to our customers and internal staff. You will work directly with prospective and current clients to design and develop backend and frontend solutions and test results. ARCHIBUS, the industry leading Integrated Workplace Management Software we support, is an enterprise level system which requires at least minimal service to install, configure, and train. Further, the business and system analysis which the Application Programmer Analyst or others undertake often reveals the need for customized solutions, and the Application Programmer Analyst provides these with a combination of ARCHIBUS quick development and configuration tools plus database and web technologies (JavaScript, Java, HTML, XML and SQL). Clients often integrate ARCHIBUS with other enterprise systems, and an Application Programmer Analyst often takes the lead in delivering these integrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide user and technical support for customers
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to provide optimal and cost effective solutions
  • Accept ownership for incoming issues from receipt through resolution
  • Support customer test and production environments (client and cloud based)
  • Create end user documentation and internal knowledge base
  • Provide support to marketing and business analysis consultants
  • Possible light travel schedule

Required Skills/Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field and/or 2 – 4 years of equivalent professional experience
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat or other Web Application Server Containers for Java EE
  • Java EE application experience (HTML5, XML, JavaScript, Java)
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and systems, including strong SQL skills
  • Strong technical background with proven problem solving skills, troubleshooting ability, and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Self-motivated, curious and with a love for learning
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability and desire to quickly learn new and changing software on both front and back ends
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal, partner, and customer personnel
  • Willingness to take on new challenges
  • Always exude a professional attitude to your customers, whether via email, phone or document

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and/or ESRI
  • Experience with Eclipse software development environment
  • Previous experience in Facility Management, Real Estate, Architecture, Construction or related fields
  • Experience with web services
  • Comfortable training others in a classroom setting, via WebEx or one-on-one
  • Comfortable negotiating clients’ complex political and financial realities
  • Experience performing business and/or system analysis
  • Experience with project management
